![]() I noticed that Demon released an updated Tube Screamer V2 with a new diode switch for what I assume is more gain. It also stacks well with Demon's own TS808+TS9 Tube Screamer pedal. Dual Fusion: of all these pedals this one sounds less dynamic although the blue side is great for running in front of other gain pedals. This thing also stacks AMAZINGLY WELL with my Mosky Audio - Golden Horse, the badazz mini Centaur clone. Jester: Higher gain pedal, and the most amp-like feel, boost side is one of the best clean boosts and works well just by itself for clean boost - big and warm. So it looks like you're pretty much guaranteed a great pedal whether you buy it from either of those 3 companies. Same pcb inside with the same Nichicon Gold electrolytics and same orange drop caps populating the board. From what Ive seen, they all appear to be the same pedal inside. I've watched a few vids of some of the other KOT clones like the 68 Pedals - King of Clone and theres one from LY Pedals, also, but I can't recall the name of it. Not exactly boutique but not mass-produced like Behringer. ![]() I seriously think it could easily pass as an equivalent of pedals from companies like JHS, Wampler, Vertex, etc. As said, I believe it could easily pass as a high quality, decently priced pedal if given to someone who wasn't aware it was a clone. So then I bought this and only afterwards did I remember that it's based on the Bluesbreaker circuit. I was even considering building my own BB for a bit. I had completely forgotten this was based on the Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal, which is a pedal I've wanted for quite a while. First time I've bought a pedal that really inspires me to play. The next couple of days, I must have picked my guitar up 20 or 30 times and played it for at least 20 mins each time. First "stage" is now distortion with high gain engaged and 2nd is OD w/ std gain. So after messing with it a bit, I popped off the back and flipped some switches lol. Two pedals replaced with one and good sounds with both single coils and humbuckers. The Aeon’s brushed aluminum enclosure is more durable than the EBow’s plastic one, and its simple battery slot improves on the latter’s battery hatch, which can often pop off and/or break after dropping. I'll put the drive side on OD and try again today. I thought it sounded pretty clean on the drive side (esp with single coils) so pulled the back off and both sides (internal dip switches) were set to clean boost. The boost side sounded really good and compared it to my Xotic EP Booster. I'm kind of an overdrive addict (Xotic SL Drive, Timmy, MoJo MoJo, East River Drive and Mini Tube Screamer) and my biggest issue is that most OD's sound good with either single coil pickups OR humbuckers, but getting a good sound with both requires a lot of time dialing in after switching guitar/pickup types.Īfter getting this King of Tone clone yesterday, I pulled a drive off my small board, plugged it in, and within a few minutes, had a good sound with both single coil and humbuckers.
